How this salary calculator works

Enter your basic salary, allowances and overtime, then add any tax reliefs and monthly commitments. This payroll calculator instantly works out every statutory deduction and shows your net salary — using the same engine that powers Malaysia's most popular Bahasa Malaysia salary calculator at KiraGaji.my.

PCB calculator (Monthly Tax Deduction)
PCB is your monthly income tax instalment to LHDN. It is calculated from your chargeable income against the progressive 2026 tax brackets. Adding tax reliefs lowers your PCB and increases your take-home pay.
EPF calculator (KWSP)
The employee EPF rate is 11% of your salary, deducted before tax, with the employer adding 12–13% on top. Your retirement savings grow while your chargeable income drops.
SOCSO & EIS
SOCSO (PERKESO) covers employment injury and invalidity, and EIS (SIP) protects you if you lose your job. Both are small monthly statutory deductions included in your net salary here.
Net salary & take-home pay
Your net salary is your gross salary minus EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB. This is the take-home pay that actually reaches your bank account each month — shown with a full deduction breakdown.

Frequently asked questions

How is PCB (MTD) calculated in Malaysia?

PCB (Potongan Cukai Bulanan), also known as Monthly Tax Deduction (MTD), is your monthly income tax instalment. It is based on your chargeable income — gross salary minus EPF and approved tax reliefs — applied against LHDN's progressive tax brackets, then spread across the year. This salary calculator applies the latest 2026 brackets automatically.

What is the EPF (KWSP) contribution rate?

For most employees, EPF deducts 11% of your monthly salary, while your employer contributes 12% or 13% on top. EPF is deducted before tax, so it lowers your chargeable income. The calculator uses the standard employee rate and shows the employer portion separately.

What are SOCSO and EIS deductions?

SOCSO (PERKESO) provides employment injury and invalidity coverage, while EIS (SIP) provides protection if you lose your job. Both are small statutory deductions taken from your salary each month, with the employer also contributing. The calculator includes both in your net salary.

What is the difference between gross salary and net salary?

Gross salary is your total pay before any deductions. Net salary — also called take-home pay — is what actually reaches your bank account after EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB are deducted. This payroll calculator shows both figures plus a full breakdown.

Is this salary calculator free and accurate for 2026?

Yes. The calculator is completely free and updated with the 2026 tax brackets and contribution rates. All calculations run entirely in your browser — none of your salary data is sent to a server or stored anywhere.

Can I include tax reliefs and commitments?

Yes. Open the Tax Reliefs tab to add reliefs such as lifestyle, medical, education, insurance and children — these reduce your PCB. You can also add monthly commitments like housing, car and PTPTN to see your disposable income after bills.
